The Subaru Ascent is powered by a 2.4L turbocharged flat 4-cylinder "boxer" engine that makes 260 horsepower, sending power to all four wheels via a CVT variable ratio transmission. Subaru has been extremely successful with the Outback and the Forester, and much of that success can be attributed to how those cars drive.
